Friday!

Hello learning friends!

Here's a recap of what we've been up to over the past couple of days!

In Math, we continue to work with small numbers, and are now more confident with "les dixièmes" et "les centièmes." We will add "les millièmes" to our number knowledge early next week.

In Français, we have started using a graphic organizer to plan our "la paix" poems. After listening to three mentor texts about peace, we have had a chance to reflect on what peace means to us.

We are connecting our five senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, sound) to different memories that bring us peace. We will be starting our drafts in class on Monday and will have access to a writing frame and vocabulary anchor charts to support our writing. We'll keep updating you on our next writing task as we go. Stay tuned!

In Science, we have learned about the Sun, day and night and also solar and lunar eclipses. Next week we will learn about the Earth's seasons and begin a short research design about different ways to tell time (such as a sundial). We will model the project together as a class before working independently on our own.

Agenda

1. If you haven't already done so, please email to confirm you have received your child's Term 1 Report. Please also return the report envelope so that they can be re-used in Term 2. Thanks!

2. "Thinking" homework - please continue to reflect on/notice what peace means to us. Our goal is to have a least one connection for each of our 5 senses so that we are ready to start our writing next week.

Have a great weekend! :)
