Tuesday!

Hello!
Our classroom is now full of new planets and new extra-terrestrial species!
We had a chance to share our Science projects in small groups and will have the opportunity to present our planets to the class tomorrow. We are looking forward to celebrating all of the hard work that has taken place over the past few weeks! :)

In addition to the agenda items below, please note that tomorrow morning is our I Love to Read assembly and that all students will be asked to bring a book with them to the assembly for a school-wide Drop-Everything-And-Read! It's the most magical moment - and one of my favourite things we do as a school all year! :)

Agenda

It's I Love to Read Month! See HERE for all sorts of great I-Love-to-Read-Month Info!

1. Science Classification project - Overdue

2. Pizza Lunch is this Thursday! Orders will be taken tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
$2.00/slice. (Cheese and pepperoni and cheese.)

3. Evaluation Calcul - Thursday

4. We have now started the research and planning part of our biography concours speeches. Students will have time in class to research, but are encouraged to do some reading about their chosen person on their own in order to maximize their work time in class. World Book and Biography.com are two great sites to use as a starting point. The five main categories of research are:
Enfance (Childhood), Obstacles, Inspiration, Actions, Impact.
Students should focus on identifying main ideas and writing the information they've gained in French; writing research points in English only to translate them into French is twice the work. The goal is not to write an entire speech in English and then rewrite it - we will be focusing on generating our research points in French so that we can plan and organize our speeches directly from the work we've already done.
